6 Days Primate Safari Rwanda

6 Days (5 Nights) Rwanda safari gives you the best of primate tracking in Nyungwe forest and Volcanos Park. Embark on a chimp and gorilla trekking adventure plus a visit to the Karisoke research center and genocide memorial sites.

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest

Drive to Nyungwe forest after breakfast with a lunch stop over enroute. Arrive at your chosen hotel for a sumptuous dinner before tomorrow’s primate walk. Accommodation at Nyungwe Forest lodge(luxury)/ Gisakura guest house (Budget)

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking

Enter the forest in the company of a trained park guide using the canopy trails that offer you chances to encounter the chimpanzees plus a variety of primates like the silver monkey, red-tailed monkey, Angolan colobus, Vervet monkeys and various bird species. Return to lodge/ guest house for dinner and overnigh stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanos Park

Embark on the long drive to Ruhengeri which entails a lunch stop over enroute arriving at the park by evening. Check in at lodge, relax and prepare for next days adventure. Dinner and overnigh stay at Mountain Gorilla view Lodge(luxury)/ La Palme hotel (Medium range)/ Muhabura hotel (Budget)

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking

After an early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the park ranger quaters for briefing you begin you gorilla safari adventure. Tracking lasts about 2 to 4 hours and you will be given a maximum of 1 hour to take pictures as you observe them feed and play. Trek to extraction point where the guide will be waiting to drive you to your accommodation.

 

Day 5: Golden Monkey tracking/ Visit the Karisoke research centre

After breakfast, you can choose between tracking the rear golden monkeys or visit the Dian Fossey tombs. Dinner and overnight stay at Kigali Serena(luxury)/ Hotel chez lando (Medium range)/ Beausejour guest house (Budget)

Day 6: Genocide memorial visit

Our experience of the land of a thousand hills begins with our visit to Gisozi genocide memorial. An onsite guide tells emotional stories behind the enormous mass graves and preserved remains. Leave the memorial, and transfer to Kigali ending your safari.
