3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Safari

Embark on 3 days (2 nights) gorilla safari in Bwindi, a UNSECO world heritage site home to over ha;lf the surving population of mountain gorillas in the world.

Day 1 - Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Morning starts off with a sumptuous breakfast at your hotel followed by a long drive to Bwindi forest passing via the Equator. Stop over in Mbarara for lunch and relaxation before proceeding to the park arriving in the evening. Check for dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Forest Camp (luxury)/ Engagi lodge (Medium range)/ Buhoma community rest camp (Budget)/ Nkuringo gorilla camp

Day 2:  Gorilla trekking

After an early morning breakfast, our guide will transfer you to the park ranger quarters for briefing and last minute preparations. Trekking requires a certain level of fitness, bottled water plus packed lunch as it can can last up to 6 hours depending on the location of mountain gorillas at that specific time. Carry a non flash camera, light rain gear, wear sturdy hiking boots because it sometimes gets slippery in the rain forest and also wear long sleeved clothes to guard against stinging nettles. You will spend an hour with the mountain gorillas to take pictures and observe them play and interact. On your return you will be awarded with a gorilla safari certificate as a successful tracker. If your still have some energy and time, you can go for a guided nature walk through the forests or visit the local communities nearby. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge/ camp.

 

Day 3: Drive back to Kampala

You will leave Bwindi after breakfast and begin the drive back to Kampala arriving late evening with a stopover for lunch enroute.
